My experience as a distant learner has been smooth and just as useful as any other way of learning. I think majority of this successful learning is due to the resources the university utilizes. Being able to use canvas makes it easier to learn because all the information is organized. It has calendars that show when upcoming assignments are due, and has the contact information in tabs so communication with the professor is still achievable. I like distant learning because it allows me to be able to make anywhere my classroom while I still handle the responsibilities of my daily life. The only thing I dislike about distant learning is that does feel less personal and this makes some classes/ assignments feel less engaging. As a teacher, one thing I would do to increase the experience of distant learning is making more fun activities to bring the excitement from a classroom to the students. It’ll be refreshing and give new life to their learning experiences. Open educational resources a

After working own the Web Design assignment, I learned a variety of new website styling skills. One of these skills was how to take images from the internet and use them as background elements. This helped add broaden the variety of styling techniques I could utilize for future websites. Another skill I learned was how to create and customize tabs on the website. This is useful for organizing the website and giving each page its own unique theme and section of information. The last skill I learned was how to use dividers to separate/ organize the images and text from each other. This allowed for me to make the website more aesthetically pleasing for viewing purposes. In addition, a well put together looking website attracts and maintains viewers. I liked that the assignment forced us to put our own creative spin and taught us all these useful skills in the process. This is a link to the website that I created:  https://ozzybiology.weebly.com   I also learned some new skills from workin

On the class pages that schools require teachers to setup, you will see a variety of information regarding the teacher and their classes. The first page usually shows the teacher's personal information like their full name, contact information, their job at the institution, and or their credentials. The other pages will end up containing relevant information for each of the classes the teacher is responsible for. This could mean a class schedule or due dates of upcoming assignments within that class as well. There would also be an additional tab that shows extra information regarding how to get more help or office hours for questions that were not able to be answered during class time.  https://www.leonschools.net/Page/22160 In the future, I envision using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities more effectively by utilizing the teacher productivity tools available. Specifically, I plan to use Google Drive because of the variety of features it has to benefit

My initial experience with Diigo was that I saw it as another search engine, kind of similar to another software called Zotero. However, the difference between Diigo and other search engines is that it allows the user to highlight certain parts of websites, which I find helpful. In addition, I like that Diigo allows you to add sticky notes as well because it makes it feel like the internet is a big notebook. It makes it easier to save thoughts for later and navigate through the internet when doing work. It makes everything easier to multitask with, but also keeps things in place in the event that the user has to leave and return to the work later. The only thing I do not like is that in order to have an even more advanced search, the user has to pay for a premium account that omits tags. It allows the ability to ignore certain words and create a more detailed and accurate search, however, the free account is still extremely helpful. My experience blogging has been a very informative o

My early experiences with the Twitter app initially came from a comedic and humor perspective. Meaning that I only used the app for memes, comedic skits, and jokes generally. That is what led me to following and interacting with a bunch of comedic accounts and people who produced these jokes and or skits. However, overtime I began to realize that the app also provided important news and information that was not always on the news or brought to my attention. This is what caused me to use the Twitter app more consistently because not only did it benefit me from a humorous and well being perspective, it also benefited me from an educational perspective by keeping me informed with the most recent news that was happening in my local area and around the world. In addition, I also noticed that the app is also a major platform for communication and could be used to inform people as well as being informed by others as well. That being said, I would use the Twitter app in my future career to co

One of the standards from grade level 6 that I believe will be helpful is interpreting information from a variety of different media forms and formats, and explaining how it is relevant to the material being covered. I feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill because it is about application and modernization. I am technologically skilled enough to where I know how to utilize videos, spreadsheets, and websites to the point where it is an asset for myself. With that being said, after identifying which forms of media I want to use, I know how to insert the material within these formats. Not only does it make it easier to teach the youth, who are growing up in the technological era, it helps them associate the learning material with modern day applications. Meaning when they use these forms of technology outside of the classroom, they will associate it with the material that was taught. One of the tools from CPALMS that I would use is maintaining appropriate per

Copyright is the form of protection every creator needs in order to ensure that their work will not be stolen. Copyrighting forces people to gain the creators permission before they can copy, recreate, and or even share the creator's work with anyone. This is essential in today's society because people have so much access to free content online, that they think everything is available for them to use. However, fair use is when people can use a portion of a creators work without their permission but it has to be used for educational, informative, or comedic purposes. As a teacher, I would utilize the copyright concept when I develop my own instructional materials in order to ensure that my work is being used as intended. In addition, I would copyright my work to make sure that the work would be accessed by the right personnel as well. Then, I would use the fair trade concept to allow my students to recreate work from other creators to make it their own while giving credit to th
